Jeanette Crouch

Jeanette Louise Crouch, 95, of Canon City passed away on November 14, 2021, at Hildebrand Care Center. Jeanette was born in Great Falls, Montana on April 9, 1926, to Howard and Ruth (Braugh) Carter. In 1942 Jeanette met the love of her life, Fontell "Tex" Crouch. The couple married on December 5, 1942. Jeanette was a mother and homemaker to their 5 children. After the children were grown, Jeanette worked as a seamstress with a clothing manufacturer in Denver, Colorado until they moved to Canon City in 1977. Jeanette retired as the seamstress at the Holy Cross Abbey in 1982. She loved sewing western shirts for her husband and son. Besides sewing, she enjoyed tatting, quilting, knitting, crocheting, and all sorts of crafts. Jeanette is survived by her 5 children, Ruth Vangrowski of Haltom City, TX, Leslie (Brenda) Crouch of Spokane, WA, Jessie Abram of New Lexington, OH, Leroy Crouch of Highlands Ranch, CO, and Henry (Kathy) Crouch of Canon City, CO; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fontell Crouch; parents, Howard and Ruth Carter; brother, Donald Carter; sister, Maryann (Carter) Fisher; son-in-law, Philip Abram; a granddaughter and a great-grandson. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021, at Wilson Funeral Home in Canon City, Colorado (1449 S. 9th Street).
