It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Jeanette Adams Gainey age 85. Mrs. Gainey passed away December 24, 2025, at the McLeod Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 at the Gum Branch Baptist Church. Pastor Rusty Conyers and Ms. Michele Crowley will officiate. Burial will be in the Gum Branch Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church and at other times at the residence of her daughter Kim Gainey, at 3855 West BoBo Newsome Highway, Hartsville, S.C.
Jeanette was born in Hartsville a daughter of the late William B. Adams and Alene Huggins Adams Teal. She was a member of Gum Branch Baptist Church, was employed at Leggs Hosiery for 26 years until her retirement. She loved to travel and going to the beach with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her pastime was watching Movies and working in her flowers. She was a faithful caregiver to her husband until he passed away in 2009, and she enjoyed going to church.
Surviving are two daughters, Angela (Tim) Cason, Darlington and Kim (Carrol) Gainey, Hartsville; one son, Mark Gainey, Hartsville; four grandchildren, Joey Griggs, Corey Griggs, Brittany (Brett) Pack and Eric (Baker) Cason; five great grandchildren, Walker Cason, Whitley Cason, Wells Cason, Tilly Cason and Presley Pack; two sisters, Jewel Campbell, Hartsville and Mildred Lunn, Hartsville.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Dewain Gainey, Great Grandson, Joseph Lex Griggs and one brother James Adams.
