Jeanette A. Jones 102 of Ravenna passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Altercare Post Acute Rehabilitation Center in Brimfield. She was born May 19, 1922, in Akron, Ohio to Troy and Louise (St. Onge) Gentry. Jeanette served in the US Marine Corps during World War II. She was a member of the Ravenna First United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Junior Thursday Literary Club, Beta Sorosis, a volunteer at Robinson Memorial Hospital, active with Civil War Re-enactments, and an avid bowler, golfer, and bridge player. She had worked for O.D.O.T. Engineers as a secretary. Survivors include her children Judith Demshar, Sarah Jones, and Jeffrey Jones, 5 grandchildren, Brian Hartung, Jessica (Geoff) Lipnevicius, Joseph (Erin) Wilson, David Jones, and Ameilia (Jay Jivens) Jones, and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, daughter Jeness Wilson, and sister Dolores (Billie) Krepps. Per her request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Ravenna First United Methodist Church, 263 S. Prospect Street in Ravenna. Rev. Jim Lewis will officiate. The family would like to thank Vista Veranda in Ravenna, and Altercare in Brimfield for the excellent care she received. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the Portage County Historical Society, 6549 N. Chestnut Street, Ravenna, OH 44266.

I met Jeanette at church. I got invited to join a circle that Jeanette was in.she was very kind and had a wonderful smile. I enjoyed being in circle with Jeanette and doing the activities together. I will really miss her.
