Jeanette Kalisch Obituary
Jeanette Marie (Marano) Kalisch, 95, lifelong resident of Nashwauk, Minn., passed away peacefully August 9, 2025, at Chestnut Grove, in Virginia, Minn.
Jeanette was born on May 6, 1930, to James and Rose (Ross) Marano, in Nashwauk, Minn. She married Richard Kalisch on August 2, 1951, and together they raised five children. Jeanette loved gardening along with cooking and baking for all her friends and family. She was a member of St. Cecelia's Catholic Church of Nashwauk. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her many grandchildren.
Jeanette is survived by her children: Carol (Ed) Stokes of Albertville, MN; Gary (Sheri) Kalisch of Cape Coral, Florida; Nancy (John) Kalisch of Chisholm, MN; Gail (Brian) Jensen of Nashwauk, MN and Rick (Wendy) Kalisch of Mountain Iron, MN. Her nine grandchildren: Laurie (Kim) Ross, Mike (Jodi) Kalisch, Tim (Amy) Kalisch, Melissa (Jim) Kinkel, Angela Wren, Jeff (Becky) Jensen, Jennifer Jensen, Zachary Kalisch, and Austin (Mia) Kalisch, along with 15 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Rose, her brother Emil Marano, her sister Joyce Briski and her husband Richard.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to moments hospice and the staff at Chestnut Grove for their compassionate care.
Funeral Graveside services for Jeanette will be 12:00 noon, Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. Richard Johnston will officiate.
