Jeanette Lambert, 94, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025, under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of W. Kentucky. The Hancock County native was born March 11, 1931, to the late Tittle Keown and Lorene Chambers Keown. Jeanette attended Hancock County High School. When only sixteen years old, she met her husband-to-be, Lester Lambert, at a dance while he was in the service and they were married within a year. Jeanette worked at G.E. early in life, then was later employed as a dental assistant for Dr. James Riley. She and Lester loved the beach and to travel, especially to a resort in S. Padre Island, TX, where they enjoyed dancing and hanging out with their close friends. They often hosted others, and Jeanette would serve delicious and sumptuous meals. She was also a long-standing member of First Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Jeanette was also preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Lester Lambert in 2019 and her sister, Eunice Crowe.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Sherry Leach of Owensboro and Jana Raber of The Villages, FL; three grandchildren, Scott Leach, Chris Leach, and Jill Raber; two great grandchildren, Owen Raber and Jordyn VonHeimburg; sister, Linda Hamilton; caregiver and companion, Jill Carter.
There will be a time of visitation from 9:00 am until noon on Monday, December 8 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory followed by a private committal and burial at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice and Palliative Care of W. Kentucky, 3400 Wathen’s Crossing Owensboro, KY.
Condolences and memories for Jeanette’s family may be left at www.glenncares.com.
