It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lon Steinbeck, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who died peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the age of 69. He was under the compassionate care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky in Owensboro.

Born February 22, 1956 in Waterloo, IA, to the late Daryl and Treva Steinbeck, Lon lived a life centered on the profound joys of family and the outdoors. He was a man whose love was as deep as the waters he so loved to fish. Lon found peace and contentment on the water, fishing rod in hand. He was a gifted woodworker, whose hands crafted not only beautiful furniture and keepsakes, but also built a home foundationed in love and laughter. He and his wife, Anne, shared a passion for travel, creating cherished memories exploring new places together.

Lon’s legacy is a testament to the power of family bonds. He is survived by his loving wife, Anne Steinbeck, who was his constant companion and the light of his life. He was a guiding presence for his children: Crystal Conklin Grunder (Mike), Jessica Conklin, Jennifer Siddons, and Nirvvane Silverstars McVitie.

He was a proud and doting Papa to his eleven grandchildren: Kyle Conklin (Amanda), Tyson Lee (Sara), Dakota Lee (Sommer), KayLorraine Oetting, Joshua Donalson (Morgan), Cheyenne Duffe (Isaac), Michael Hennings (Britney), Don Donalson II, Maverick Donalson (Ngoc), Dillon Hennings, and Isaiah Siddons. His life was further blessed by fifteen great-grandchildren, each a shining reflection of his enduring love.

Lon also leaves behind his brothers, Linn Steinbeck (Missy) and Lance Steinbeck (Dawn), who shared countless memories and brotherhood. He will be fondly remembered by his nephews, Robert, Chad, and Daryl Steinbeck, his niece, Chelsea Steinbeck, and his ever-faithful, loyal companion, his dog Bonnie.

Lon was employed by Strategic Project Solutions, a company he had a great passion for. He had a unique skill set being both an expert in construction and manufacturing engineering. He traveled the world working on huge projects, particularly in oil and gas field and lately data centers. He also founded Novos Solutions with his business partner Jim Richardson.

Lon was preceded in death by his parents, Daryl and Treva, and his son-in-law, Michael Hennings, who have welcomed him into eternal rest.

A celebration of Lon’s life will be held on Friday, December 12, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory in Owensboro, Kentucky. Family and friends are invited to attend and share fond memories of a life well-lived and deeply loved.
