Jeanette Olesnanik Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Edder Funeral Home, Inc. - Girard on Dec. 2, 2025.
Jeanette L. Olesnanik, 74 of Girard, died on Wednesday November 26, 2025 at her home.

She was born on November 2, 1951, in Erie to the late John and Ruth (Bowen) Olesnanik.

Jeanette graduated from Rice Avenue Union High School in 1969 and went on to continue her education at Erie Business Center, where she obtained an Associate Degree in Business in 1972. From there, she entered the workforce and began working at Doctor's Osteopathic Hospital. Throughout her life, she held several jobs but held positions at Webb Manufacturing and Carlisle Engineered Products primarily.

She loved the outdoors-whether it was working in her yard raking acorns, golfing, or traveling all over the globe. Jeanette was also an avid football fan, especially of her beloved Chicago Bears. She was also often seen volunteering her time at the Girard-Lake City Christian Cupboard in Girard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her lifelong companion, Frank Tushak, and her infant sister, Carol Rae Olesnanik.

Jeanette is survived by her aunt, Patricia Ball; her uncle, Edward Olesnanik; as well as numerous cousins. Since the passing of her beloved Frank, she enjoyed the support of a number of close friends. She loved laughing and having fun with Jean Pender and Kathy D'Aurora who referred to themselves as the Three Musketeers. She also enjoyed spending time with Shirley Hall and Larry Russell, attending Seawolves games with Bill Grace, and spending time with Cathy and Shawn McBurney. Special thanks to Asera Care Hospice, Melody and Lori for their care these past weeks.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeanette's name may be made to the Girard-Lake City Christian Cupboard, 34 Church Street, Girard, PA 16417.

Services will be held privately by the family.
