Nancy Dunn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Edder Funeral Home, Inc. - Girard on Mar. 17, 2026.
Nancy Marie (Buser) Dunn passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, at Brevillier Village following a long illness, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion to her family and community.

She was born July 19, 1942, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Carl and Mary Emilie (Noll) Buser. She graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School as part of the Class of 1960 and carried with her a deep appreciation for learning, history, and community throughout her life.

Nancy dedicated 28 years of service as the secretary at Elk Valley Elementary School. During her time there, she was known for her kindness, steady presence, and helping students, families, and staff with a welcoming smile and a caring heart.

A woman of strong faith, Nancy was a longtime member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. Her faith guided her life and inspired her many acts of quiet generosity.

Nancy had a lifelong passion for reading, learning, and history. She was a dedicated supporter of the public library and previously served on the Rice Avenue Community Public Library board. She also generously donated her time and resources, volunteering at the library, the local food bank, and other community charities.

Nancy also loved to travel and cherished her time at the beach. She had a special fondness for lighthouses and enjoyed visiting them and collecting replicas, each one reminding her of the calm and beauty she found by the sea.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Buddell, and her brother, Robert Buser.

She will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of nearly 64 wonderful years, Hugo Patrick "Pat" Dunn, whom she married on May 26, 1962.

Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and caring for others. In addition to her devoted husband, Nancy is survived by her daughter, Deborah Riccobelli, and her husband, Tom; and her two sons, David Dunn and his wife, Deziray, and Dennis Dunn and his wife, Kim.

Nancy's greatest joy in life was her role as a grandmother. Lovingly known as "Nanny," she treasured every moment with her nine grandchildren: Matthew Guidish and his wife Mary; Emilie Dalton and her husband Andrew; Jessica Sepsey and her husband Dan; Patrick Dunn and his wife Maria; Joseph Dunn and his wife Emma; Kevin Dunn and his partner Tara; Samantha Maloney and her husband Jake; and Logan and Tanner Manross. She was also blessed to be the proud great-grandmother of ten great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense happiness.

Nancy will be remembered for her love of family, friends, and community. Her memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her.

Memorial donations may be made to the Rice Avenue Community Public Library, 705 Rice Ave, Girard, PA 16417

To honor Nancy's wishes, a Memorial Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 10:00 am at St. John's Evangelist Catholic Church, 1001 Main St E, Girard, PA 16417. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather afterward for a luncheon at Girard American Legion Post 494, 42 Wall Street, Girard, PA 16417.
