Ronald R. Zerance Sr. "Moe", 80, of
Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, at Carolyn's Hospice, with his loving daughter by his side. Born December 25, 1945, in
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Moe was the son of the late Joseph N. and Anna (Zubovic) Zerance, a proud graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School, and retired from Carolina Freight.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Sherrie, and her husband Mike Borzok; his son, Steven Zerance (Sandy); his cherished grandchildren, Cooper and Sarah Zerance; siblings John "Butch" Zerance (Vicki), Bernadette Brennan (Tony), Mary Jane Miller (Gary); his daughter-in-law Missy; his bonus daughter Dawn; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Ronald R. Zerance Jr.; siblings Joseph Zerance, Joanie Zerance, Delores Durand, and Rose Vajda; and his cousin Stanley Sidelko.
Moe was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose greatest joy in life was his family, especially his grandchildren Cooper and Sarah, who brought him endless pride and happiness. They were truly the light of his life, giving him strength, purpose, and something to look forward to every single day. Time spent with them is what he treasured most - including car rides with the self-proclaimed "A Team" of Cooper, Mike, and Moe, while Sherrie and Sarah brought up the rear as the "B Team," and those moments asking "Pop Pop" for directions that somehow always included a turn down Derry Street - because as Moe always said when there was traffic, "take Derry Street, you will get there faster."
His daughter Sherrie Ann didn't just love her dad - she showed up for him, every single day. Together, she and Mike shared countless holidays and celebrations with him, where Moe's skills in the kitchen made everything taste just a little bit better. They also shared memorable road trips to NASCAR races in Michigan and Delaware - trips that created memories they will carry with them always. She and her dad shared a bond that only a father and daughter who truly cherished each other could understand. He was her world. And when the time came, she was right there beside him, right where she had always been.
Moe had a close relationship with his son-in-law Mike, and the two shared many memorable times together. They especially enjoyed trips to racetracks in Pennsylvania and California and never missed an opportunity for friendly trash talk over Penn State football - a tradition filled with humor and rivalry.
He also shared a special bond with his bonus daughter Dawn, who, along with Sherrie, kept him on his toes and brought laughter and energy into his life.
He enjoyed regular conversations with his brother Butch, catching up on their favorite television shows and jumping at every chance he got for one of Butch's home-cooked dinners and cakes. Those moments meant so much to him.
Moe created many lasting memories with his cousin Billy and family. Those times were filled with laughter, stories, western shows, and the simple joy of being together. He also loved keeping Billy updated on New York Yankees games, often calling just to talk about the latest scores.
He especially looked forward to his birthday. One of his favorite traditions was enjoying a lemon meringue pie made by his daughter-in-law Missy - a simple pleasure that always brought him happiness - and reminding everyone that "the best gifts are born on Christmas."
Moe had a big heart, was kind and funny, and would do anything for anyone. He loved western shows, game shows, NASCAR, and college football. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He will be remembered for his love of family, his loyalty, and the many small, meaningful moments he shared with those closest to him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Carolyn's House of Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd,
Harrisburg, PA 17110.
