Deborah Jean Hoffer

Deborah Jean Hoffer, 73, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at her home. Born on March 22, 1952, in Lumberton, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Ralzman C. Britt, Jr., and Emma J. (Seals) Britt. Deborah was the devoted and loving wife of John Carey Hoffer, with whom she shared a life filled with love and companionship.

She was a proud graduate of Lumberton Senior High School, Class of 1970, and went on to work as a bank teller, where she was known for her friendly smile and dedication to helping others. Deborah was also a member of American Legion Post #730, reflecting her commitment to community and fellowship.

A gifted and creative woman, Deborah found great joy in cross-stitching, crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She had a remarkable talent for creating beautiful handmade pieces, including custom wedding dresses and bedding, which became treasured keepsakes for those fortunate enough to receive them. Her handiwork was a true expression of her love and care for others.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Corey (Suzanne) Hoffer, Timothy Hoffer, and Steven (Tina) Hoffer; her grandchildren, Abbie, Megan, Henry, and Benjamin; her siblings, Michael Britt, Jeffrey (Kathy) Britt, Sharon Lovin, and Janice Revels; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Colon Britt.

Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation and gathering on Friday, February 27, 2026, 4PM-6PM, at Hetrick-Bitner Funeral Home, Inc., 3125 Walnut Street, Harrisburg, PA 17109.
