Jeanette Poirier Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home on Jan. 6, 2026.
Jeanette S. (Peischer) Poirier, 80, of Groveland, passed away on December 11, 2025, at Lawrence General Hospital.

Jeanette was born on August 4, 1945, in Munich, Germany, to Hilde (Werner) Peischer. At 18, she left Germany to move to the United States, where she married Robert Poirier. They first lived in Cambridge before settling in Billerica to raise their family. As they approached retirement, Jeanette and Robert spent a decade in a home they built in York, Maine, before moving to Groveland to retire. For many years, Jeanette volunteered administering hearing tests for the Billerica Public Schools and later worked at Poirier & Springer. She loved to travel, garden, and play cards, and was an avid reader who especially enjoyed Sunday brunches at the Union Bluff in York, Maine.

Jeanette is survived by her children, Joseph and Catherine Poirier of Carlisle, Robert and Ann Poirier of Georgetown, Richard and Janet Poirier of Sandown, New Hampshire, and Michelle Bouley of Merrimac. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Dan, Michael, Emily, Sarah, Joseph, and Marko, and her great-grandchildren Dylan, Brady, Kaiden, and Isla, as well as her sister Danielle Tollon of Italy and her brother Sandro Werner of Germany. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Poirier, and her granddaughter Abigail.
