Jeanette Gail Sanchez, 62, of Newton, passed away on Wednesday (January 12, 2022) in Newton.
Jeanette was born in Hutchinson, Kansas to Tommy L. and Pauline Carol Partin Jay on January 18, 1959. During her childhood, the family lived in Western Kansas where she attended schools before moving to Newton. Jeanette graduated from Newton High School in 1977.
While she was working at the Fox Theater she met Robert M. Sanchez. They were married on August 29, 1982 in Wichita and had two children. Jeanette was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
For over 20 years, she had worked in local nursing homes and hospital as a nurse aide.
Survivors include her husband Robert of the home in Newton; son Danny Sanchez of Kansas City, Mo.; daughter Crystal Vela and husband Orlando of Hesston; brother Tommy D. Jay of North Newton; sisters Carol Chance and husband Richard of Wichita, Patricia Beason and husband Thomas of Valley Center, Terri Jay of Wichita, Julie Becker and husband Arlo of Halstead; along with nine grandchildren.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday (January 18, 2022) at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church in Newton. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Newton.
The casket will be open at the funeral home on Monday (Jan. 17th) between 1:00 P.M., and 8:00 P.M., where the family will receive friends between 6:00 and 8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the American Lung Assoc., contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.
