Mary Jeanine Parks Willis was born March 22, 1935, in Richland Springs, Texas. The youngest of six children of Robert Wallace Parks and Bethel Mae Holley Parks, Jeanine grew up in Richland Springs and graduated Richland Springs High School in 1953. After high school, Jeanine attended a summer semester at Southwest Texas State University and then worked at Curtis Field in Brady where she met the love of her life, Paul Willis. Paul and Jeanine were married in Richland Springs on April 7, 1956, and celebrated 50 years together. They had three children, Angi Lyn, Holli Beth and Paul Scott. In her younger years, Jeanine was active in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Miss Heart of Texas Pageant. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brady where she worked in the nursery, taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Retiring after 27 years at the Commercial National Bank, the "drive-thru" was not the same without her smile.
Jeanine is survived by her children, Angi Willis, Holli Nickels and Scott Willis, all of Brady as well as four grandchildren Betheny Nickels, Jace Willis, Shelton Willis and Shane Willis and two great-grandchildren Audrey Willis and Lane Willis and one on the way.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Brady with a 2:00 PM funeral service immediately following. Interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Brady.
