Jeanne E. Cornor, 76, of Dayton, OH, passed away on April 9, 2024 after her lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Jeanne was born on April 12th, 1947 to Mellie (Hickman) and James Davis in Covington, OH. She is survived by her husband, Joe Cornor; son, Joseph Cornor; daughter Janis Kinder (Josh); grandsons, Justin Kinder and Jonah Kinder; and her siblings, Jo Anne Davis (John), Leesburg, FL and Jim Davis (Paula), Denver, CO. She graduated from Covington High School in 1965 where she met her husband, Joe. Jeanne and Joe were married on October 3rd, 1970 and were married for 53 amazing years.
Jeanne worked at NCR as a Professional Secretary and then decided that staying home with their children was most important. While Janis & Joey were in school she volunteered at the schools, boy scouts, and all the activities that allowed her to be with them. Later, she worked at Wright State University as an Administrative Professional and always said that the college kids "kept her young".
She loved summertime with her family on Middle Bass Island where she was able to share her love of watersports and outdoors with family and friends. Jeanne enjoyed scuba diving, slalom skiing, trick skiing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, jet skiing, running, rollerblading and bicycle riding. After retirement, Jeanne and Joe spent all summer on the island and winters in Florida.
She enjoyed flying in their airplane on family adventures including hundreds of trips to their home on Middle Bass Island, Key West, Myrtle Beach, Connecticut, Martha's Vineyard, Virginia Beach and logged around 2,500 hours in the co-pilot seat.
Jeanne's flower gardens and her passion for creating beauty were evident everywhere, in her gardens, her potted plants and her cut flowers on the counter. There was nothing that Jeanne couldn't grow. Jeanne will be greatly missed by her family and friends and never forgotten. Her flower gardens will continue to grow and flourish.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 1-3pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. The service will follow at 3pm.
Jeanne's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time. Click Here to view the service.
A celebration of Jeanne's life with food and drinks will be held at 4pm at St. Peter's School (Ries Room at the rear of the property), 6185 Chambersburg Rd, Huber Heights, OH 45424. RSVP to Janis Kinder at [email protected].
