It is with deep love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Jeanne Cross, who left this world peacefully on December 23rd surrounded by family.
Born in Media, Pa, Jeanne lived a life defined by kindness, resilience, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She was a guiding light to her children, a loyal friend, and a source of comfort to anyone who crossed her path. Her laughter could fill a room, her wisdom could calm a storm, and her love knew no bounds. Jeanne lived in Prospect Park while raising her 4 children. After retirement she and Monte travelled all over the USA in their travel trailer. When they resettled, they moved to Ridley Park and split their time between there and Bonita Springs Fl. Jeanne was known and loved by everyone, everywhere she went.
Jeanne found joy in life's simple moments. Sharing meals around the table and there was always room for 1 more! As well as offering a listening ear to anyone in need. She taught us the value of compassion, the strength of perseverance, and the beauty of unconditional love.
Jeanne is survived by her children Sandra (Thomas) LoPresti, Monte (Sandra) Cross Jr., Patricia (Jeffrey) Petherbridge and Patrick (Patricia) Cross as well as grandsons, Sean Gallagher, Michael Cross, Daniel Cross, Stephen Cross, and Monte Cross III. Great grandchildren Alexis Gallagher, Lacey Gallagher, Jenna Gallagher, Jaxson Gallagher, Caralyn Gallagher, Sean Gallagher, Addison Cross, Heath Cross, Nathan Cross, Adam Cross Jamison Cross, Monte Cross IV and Tremont Cross, great stepchildren Elizabeth Palmieri and Gregorio Riga, as well as niece Barbara Hayes and her family. She is also survived by nieces Cheryl Trevathan, Megan Tennesen and Doreese Torrey and their families. They will all carry her spirit forward in their hearts and actions. She is preceded in death by her husband Monte Cross Sr, brothers Charles and John Campbell, sisters Alice Taylor and Frances Powlus and grandson Gregory Gallagher.
A graveside ceremony will be held, in the spring, at Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Broomall, Pa, where family and friends are invited to share memories, laughter, and love in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Shriners Hospital. (See the link below)
Though she is no longer with us in body, her love will forever be in our hearts.
