Jeanne Wright Massaro, a native of Pearl River, NY, died on December 10, 2023. She was 96 years of age. Mrs. Massaro was born August 31, 1927, in Newburgh, NY, to Francis and Amy (Repp) Wright. She was a 1945 graduate of Pearl River High School and a 1949 graduate of the College of William and Mary.
On September 2, 1950 she married Pasquale A. Massaro at St. Margaret's Church, Pearl River. Mr. Massaro died in 1971.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Massaro was predeceased by her children, Michael W. Massaro and Marina M. Plecker (Dan), and her sister Natalie W. Cole. Loved and survived by her children: Dana J. (Massaro) Fragale (Anthony), Paul F. Massaro (Carol), Peter A. Massaro (Sue), Anne V. Massaro (Greg Schneider), 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and nieces Amy E. Cole, Marta LaRock and Lisa Raziano.
Mrs. Massaro was a 19-year employee of the Pearl River School District, and a volunteer of the Pearl River School District Archives.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023, at St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, 115 Central Avenue, Pearl River. Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. on December 15th at Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home in Pearl River. Burial will be at St. Anthony's cemetery in Nanuet.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Joe Raso Hospice Residence, 415 Buena Vista Rd., New City, NY 10956.
