Jeanne Schaumburg, a 20-year resident of Fishkill, formerly of Yonkers and Brooklyn, passed away on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2025 at the Taconic Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Fishkill. She was 97.

Daughter of the late William and Catherine (McLaughlin) Rankin, she was born in Brooklyn on August 1, 1928. Jeanne first worked for various companies throughout Manhattan when she was younger. Later in life, she worked in the cafeteria at Emerson Middle School (Yonkers), and retired as a library assistant at Elizabeth Seton College (Yonkers).

Jeanne was a devoted parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill. She was an active participant with the Fishkill Senior Drop-In Program and loved taking family vacations. More than anything else, however, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In 1968, she married Robert Schaumburg, who predeceased Jeanne in 2004 after 36 years of marriage.

Survivors include her daughters: Lynn Holder & her husband Ronald of Yonkers, Laurette Cunha & her husband Jack of Fishkill, and Alicia D'Ambrosio-Szoeke of Yonkers; her grandchildren: Bianca Cunha, Justin Cunha, Leah Cunha, and Joseph Szoeke; her great-grandchildren: Cameron, Savannah, and Vannessa; as well as many nieces, nephews, and many other loving relatives.

In addition to her husband and parents, Jeanne was also predeceased by her siblings, Owen, William, James, and Kathryn.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, December 30 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00am on Wednesday, December 31 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY.
