FORT WORTH - Jeanne Marie (Logan) Summers, 102, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2023.
Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 pm Sunday, December 17, 2023 in Suite B at Greenwood.
Jeanne was born February 26, 1921 in Beatrice, Nebraska to Paul and Grace Logan along with her brothers, James and Robert. She loved to reminisce about Beatrice and was always happy to tell stories about her hometown memories to everyone she met. She graduated from Beatrice High School in 1938 and went on to graduate from Doane College in 1942.
After moving to Fort Worth, Texas, Jeanne worked as a flight attendant for American Airlines. After having her three children she furthered her education at Texas Women's University with a master's degree in library science leading to a 20-year career in the library system. Jeanne had a lifelong passion for the arts and volunteered as a docent for the Amon Carter Museum. She was an active member in the Women's Club, Fort Worth Kiwi Club, Fort Worth District Dental Society, and had a lively Monday Book Club. Jeanne was also known for her love of animals and her backyard garden.
Jeanne is survived and cherished by her three children, Bill Summers, Scott Summers, and Susan Conroy; daughter-in-law, Leslie Summers; grandchildren, William Summers, Matthew Summers, Sean Conroy, Scott Conroy, and Breccan Conroy.
