Jeanne Louise Taunt (Kutsche) passed away on February 11, 2025 at the age of 74. She was born to Joyce Jeanne (Wagoner) and William Frederick Blake Kutsche on August 18, 1950 and grew up in Oscoda, Michigan. Jeanne was the eldest of her eight siblings and the daughter of the town doctor. She spent her summers playing along the shores of Lake Huron and rode on her motorcycle through the surrounding towns when she was old enough. Her parents supported this adventurous spirit by owning Sport and Trail, a Honda motorsports dealership. She developed her love of medicine and helping others while working in her father's medical office which supported the local community.
She left home to attend Michigan State University to follow in the "family medical legacy" to become a nurse. While there, she met her husband Bruce at a floor dinner in Holmes Hall, a dorm that became home to many future Taunt/Kutsche Spartans. This union connected her to his large family which included his parents Elsie B. (Omans) and Joseph L. Taunt Sr. as well as siblings Rose, Chuck, Marge, Mike, and Larry. She went on to work in the emergency room at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan for over two decades. This work paused for a couple of years with her early diagnosis of breast cancer in 1988 which she valiantly fought against and won. Family time was spent mostly at the cottage in Port Sheldon, Michigan where five generations of Kutsches enjoyed their summers. She spent her last years watching as her sons, Jeff and Greg, along with their wives, Kelly and Justyna, raised her four grandchildren: Alessandra, Reagan, Brooklynn, and James.
Her legacy will continue on with them and through her brothers and sisters: Blake (Suzi), Lynn (Tom deceased), Carol (Pat), Darwin, John (Merrill), Bill (Lieane), and Bob as she joins her parents Blake and Joyce, and her husband Bruce in heaven. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in place of services.
