Jeanne Wright

Jeanne Wright, 77, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life may be held at a later date. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services of Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.
Born on March 7, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri, Jeanne was the beloved daughter of William and Berta May (Kienzle) Wright. She spent much of her early life in Owensville, Missouri, where she was raised by her mother and stepfather, Sterling Landwehr.
Jeanne embraced the beauty of life with a heart full of faith, love for her family, a passion for flowers, and a zest for fun. Her favorite Bible verse was simply, "Jesus wept," a reminder of deep compassion and humanity.
In her younger years with friends and family alike; she rode horses, danced whenever she could, sang at county fairs, played rummy, fished, and wasn't afraid to handle a shotgun. She found great joy in spending time with animals and cherished her years working as a florist-her favorite profession.
Jeanne later moved to be closer to her children and spent the remainder of her life in various parts of Iowa.
Known for both her outer beauty and inner strength, Jeanne was truly one tough cookie. Her love and vibrant presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dionne (Curtman) Pruess and Roger Pruess; grandchildren, Samantha (Derek) Meinders, Arya Kirkpatrick, and Peyton Kirkpatrick; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Lydia, and Nick; and very close friend, Jayne.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Nicholas Kirkpatrick; and her stepfather, Sterling Landwehr.
