Jeannene Mattingly Hanson passed away on November 16, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born on January 9, 1936, in Portland, Kansas. Throughout her life, Jeannene enjoyed a varied and fulfilling career. She was a self-established travel agent, known for her expertise in arranging wonderful trips for her clients. Additionally, she engaged in research in epidemiology and worked in group administration at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Jeannene is survived by her father, Ruther Mattingly, and her mother, Ena Mae Lott. She also leaves behind her friends, Barbara Jo Meyer, Robert Charles Masterson, and Betty Frazier.
Jeannene was preceded in death by her beloved family members, including her brother, Charles Edward Mattingly, as well as Bonnie Lou Smock and Julia Karel Byers.
She will be remembered for her contributions to her community and her enduring spirit. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
