FITCHBURG - Jeannette (Jan) Palmi, 95, passed away peacefully with family by her side on August 29, 2025. Born on September 10, 1929, in Fitchburg, Mass, she walked through life as a resilient woman with a generous heart and adventurous spirit. She touched the lives of all who knew her and was often called an Angel on Earth. She was a proud and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was a testament of strength to everyone who knew her.
Jeannette was a retired seamstress, a craft she mastered over many years. She ventured off course to assembling circuit boards at Flextronics until her retirement. She had a passion for crocheting, creating May Baskets, playing cards, and traveling with her family (writing about every adventure in her journal). She was proud to earn her GED in 1991. She found great joy, and cherished every moment being surrounded by her family and friends.
Jeannette is survived by her daughter, Kim Palmi; her daughter-in-law, Cynthia (Richard) Palmi; her sister Gloria (Louis) Vitelli; her grandchildren, Shawn (Rosemary) Palmi, Trisha (Chad) Wilkins, Sheena (Scott) Aker, Meghan Boisvert, Alyssa Boisvert, Nolan Hall; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Bertha Duval; her husband, Melvin Palmi; her sons, Kenneth, Richard, Ronald and David Palmi; her sister, Claire Chartier; and brother, Walter Duval, Jr.
Her legacy of love and her adventurous spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. We invite all who knew and loved Jeannette to share your memories, photos, and stories on her memorial page, where we can all remember her long life's journey.
Jeannette's life will be celebrated at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg. Calling hours are Friday, Sept. 5 from 5:00-7:00 PM. A Funeral will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 1:00 PM, St. Joseph’s Church, 49 Woodland St, Fitchburg.
