It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeannette Rentrop, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world on January 6, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on July 4, 1933, in Kaplan, Louisiana,
Jeannette spent her life dedicated to her family and her role as a homemaker, nurturing those she loved with warmth and compassion from her home in Morgan City, Louisiana. Jeannette is survived by her cherished children: Steve Rentrop, James “Jimmy” Rentrop, Ronnie Rentrop, Randy Rentrop, Joey Rentrop, Mary Marceaux, Mark Rentrop, Willie Rentrop, Barry Rentrop, and Bruce Rentrop. Each of her children carries forward her legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering love; 24 grandchildren; 50 plus great grandchildren; one sister, Linda Hinkley.
Jeannette was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Rentrop Jr., parents, Maurice LeBlanc, Inez LeBlanc; two sons, Maurice Rentrop, Harold Rentrop III; one sister, Geraldine Marino.
A Mass celebrating Jeannette's life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring her memory and the profound impact she had on all who knew her. Following the service, Jeannette will be laid to rest in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery.
In this time of grieving, we encourage those whose lives were touched by Jeannette to come together, share their memories, and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who will be greatly missed. As we remember Jeannette Rentrop, let us carry forward her legacy of love and kindness in our own lives.
