Jeannie, 78, passed away on Wednesday, September 4th, 2024, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She took her last breath at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Jeannie was born on October 18, 1946, to Rose and Sam Gurin in the heart of steel country, Pittsburg Pennsylvania. She attended Robert Morris University, which lead her to an extensive career serving the Federal Government as an Executive Assistant and Executive Officer for a total of 55 years. A job she to took much pride in and talked about fondly. Her co-workers speak of her with much respect and adoration, considering her an invaluable member of their team.
Jeannie enjoyed 46 adventure filled years with her beloved husband, Joseph Dugo. She is survived by her devoted sons, Larry and Aaron; beloved granddaughters Madison and Taylor and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Wayne Gurin and loving husband.
She may have been small in stature, but Jeannie fought with fierce dedication through life's challenges. She was the epitome of class, style and grace in all she did, always with a smile on her face. Her legacy will live on through loved ones, cherished co-workers and dear friends. May she forever rest in peace.
A visitation will be held at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Rd., Fairfax, VA 22032 on Friday, September 20th, 2024 at 12 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., funeral service at 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., burial at 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a reception immediately to follow.
