Jeannine A. Connor, of Medina, NY passed away at home on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
Born January 10, 1936 in Cortland, NY, she was a daughter of the late Galen H. and Florence L. (Scobey) Smith. She graduated from John Marshall High School in Rochester, Class of 1953. Jeannine married her first husband, E. Ronald Holbrook, on October 29, 1955. The couple raised a family of three children. Jeannine taught nursery school out of her home and worked at the Newell Shirt Factory. In 1977 she received her bachelor’s degree in education from SUNY Brockport and worked at Lyndonville Central Schools as a long-term substitute teacher in the kindergarten program. She also subbed at both Oak Orchard Elementary and Warren P. Towne Primary School. Jeannine was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Medina. She also belonged to the Sweet Adelines, Jaynecees, T.O.P.A. and Beta Sigma Phi.
On June 11, 1983, Jeannine married her second husband, Robert G. Connor. Blending their families, the couple enjoyed many years together at their home in Medina and seasonally at their homes in the Thousand Islands and Florida. Jeannine loved to do crafts and enjoyed being in craft shows with her daughter, Desiree. She also enjoyed sewing and taught sewing classes from her home. Jeannine especially enjoyed machine embroidering and made many hats, shirts, clocks and more, which she gifted to family and friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially for Mother’s Day.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Robert Connor in 2015; son and daughter in-law, Randall (Jennifer) Holbrook; grandson, Sean Connor; first husband, E. Ronald Holbrook; brother and sister in-law, Robert (Jeanne) Smith; sister in-law, Patricia Smith; and granddaughter in-law, Jamie Connor.
Survivors include her children, Desiree (Timothy) Roberts and Kristin (Chris) Poehlmann, Pamela (Daniel) Morrissey and Scott (Thelma) Connor; grandchildren, Timothy (Angel) Holbrook, Amber Poler, Riannin Nottingham (Dennis Wood); Blaine Nottingham (Kathryn Shields), Robin Roberts (James Mayflower), Eric Connor, Connor (Brenda) Morrissey and Carolyn Morrissey (Ty Bramhall); great-grandchildren, Jamya, Niah, Mason, Petal, Jerron, Kayden, Hunter, Marceline, Jace and Beau; siblings, Barry Smith, Richard (Nong) Smith, James (Marge) Smith and Donna Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside committal service will be held in Boxwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Orleans at www.hospiceoforleans.org. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.
