Ann Marie Perkins, 93, of Medina, New York, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, at Buffalo General Hospital after a short illness. In recent years, Ann had been a resident of Tennyson Court Assisted Living in Buffalo where she lived with her beloved companion, Molly.

Ann was born on August 19, 1933, to Marie and Jeremiah Morrissey in Medina, New York. She was the second child in the family and grew up on her parents' farm on West Scott Road. Ann graduated from Medina High School in 1951 and went on to attend the Sisters of Charity School of Nursing in Buffalo, earning her degree as a Registered Nurse in 1954.

That same year, Ann married her high school sweetheart, Ron Perkins. Their union was one of deep and abiding love, spanning over fifty years until Ron's passing on March 17, 2005. Together, they shared a passion for travel and explored the United States, Europe, the Caribbean, and Africa, creating a lifetime of cherished memories.

Ann dedicated her career to caring for others. She served as a nurse at Medina Memorial Hospital, working in both the Emergency Room and Intensive Care Units. Later, she became a primary care nurse for Dr. Jim Sterling, Dr. Concepcion Singson, and Dr. Madejski, touching countless lives through her compassionate care.

A devoted member of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Medina, Ann's Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life—a legacy she passed on to her children and grandchildren. Nothing brought her greater joy than gathering with her family for holidays and summer celebrations. She was a gifted baker whose banana bread, molasses cookies, Lebkuchen, and pizzelles were treasured family favorites. Ann was also an accomplished gardener who harvested and canned bountiful vegetables each year, and a talented artisan who lovingly crafted quilts and needlepoint pieces. Every child and grandchild received a quilted Christmas tree skirt, and each grandchild and great-grandchild has a needlepoint birth announcement—lasting tokens of her love.

Ann was a devoted mother to her four children: Kathleen (Douglas) Colson of Dorset, Vermont; James Perkins of Glens Falls, New York; William (Sandy) Perkins of Madison, Maine; and Jeanne (Paul) Valley of East Amherst, New York. She was a cherished grandmother to eleven grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren. Ann was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ron, and her daughter-in-law, Karen Perkins.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary's Church, 211 Eagle St., Medina, followed by burial beside her husband and parents in St. Mary's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, you perform an act of kindness in Ann's memory or make a donation to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.
