Jeannine C. Hien, 100 of Lincoln, RI., died peacefully on September 3, 2021. She was the wife of the late Charles A. Hien.
Jeannina Caterina Bacchiocchi was born in Orciano di Pesaro, Italy on November 1, 1920, daughter of the late Galliomo and Ilde Bacchiocchi. At nine years old, she came to America with her mother Ilde to join her father who arrived here several years earlier.
She attended the French boarding school Saint Jesus Mary in Woonsocket. Around this time her name became Jeannine Bacchi. She was an alumna of St. Claire High School and the former Hill College in Woonsocket, RI where she met Charles (Charlie) her future husband.
Later as a widow, Mrs. Hien owned and operated Jean Hien's Village Shop of Lincoln, a fashion boutique. She also catered out of her kitchen for well known bands that played at The Living Room, a popular Providence Nigh Club owned by her sons Randy and Brian.
She is survived by a daughter Paula Hien Gautieri and husband John, a son Brian Hien and wife Vicky, a son Scott and wife Nancy, and a daughter-in-law Patti Hien, wife of the late Randy. Three granddaughters; Lauren Giusti, Elizabeth Hien, and Catherine Hien. Two grandsons; Charlie Hien and wife Katie and Randall Hien. One great-granddaughter Haley Hien. Four step-grandsons; John and Kevin Greene and Michael and Alex Burrows.
She was well loved and will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Jeannine's Life Celebration to be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Smithfield Avenue, Pawtucket.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Scallop Shell Nursing and Rehabilitation, Attn: Resident Activities Fund, 55 Scallop Shell Way, Wakefield, RI 02879.
