CARTHAGE, Illinois - Jearlyn Frances Plumley, 82, of Carthage peacefully passed Friday morning at her home.
Jearlyn was born on November 24, 1942, in Carthage, Illinois, the daughter of Francis and Leota (Sparrow) Lunt. She graduated from Carthage High School in 1960.
On November 12, 1960, Jearlyn was united in marriage to Darrell Plumley. He preceded her in death.
Jearlyn worked as a bookkeeper for much of her career at Robnett-Jurgens Implement, Newell Motors and finishing at Carl Motors. She also took a few years away from the business world and provided daycare in her home while her daughters were growing up. Along with her career, she also worked alongside Darrell in their restaurants, The Towne House Restaurant and The Plum Tree Supper Club & Lounge in Carthage for 27 years.
She was lovingly known as "Monya" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who enjoyed their time with her playing games, reading and learning to bake. Along with supporting local sports teams, she was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Caitlin Clark fan. Jearlyn was well known for her homemade cookies and Christmas trays for family and friends.
Jearlyn is survived by her daughters: Kelly (Tony) Freeman of Carthage, IL and Jennifer (Jimmy) Lauzon of Asheville, NC. Her grandchildren: Kortney (Luke) Burling of Carthage, IL, Kylee Freeman of Carthage, IL, Liv Lauzon of Asheville, NC, and Tanner Freeman of Quincy, IL. Her great-grandchildren: Annie, Brooks, Ry and Ronnie Burling of Carthage, IL. Sister-in-law: Katey Lunt and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Darrell, her sister & brother-in-law, Rogene (Tom) Dye, brother, Dick Lunt, sisters-in-law & brother-in-law Jayne (Bob) Karlov and Judy Manzo.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 17, 2025, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with burial to follow in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage. Family will meet friends from 9:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Carthage Kiwanis Christmas for Kids. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
