Jeff Barry

Jeff Barry, 60, of Hinckley, Illinois, passed away peacefully in the morning hours of Wednesday, September 24, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on April 18, 1965, in Aurora, Illinois, Jeff grew up in Batavia, where he formed many lifelong friendships.

In 1989, Jeff joined the Laborers' Union #582, working with several companies over the course of 30 years. He was proud to retire at the age of 54. His hard work, loyalty, and quick wit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

In 1993, Jeff met the love of his life, Dawn Maier Potts, and they were married in 1998. In 2003, they welcomed their daughter, Payton, who brought immeasurable joy to their life.

Jeff is survived by his beloved wife, Dawn; daughters, Payton and Ashley Lamb; two grandchildren, Autumn and Dylan; his siblings, Scott (Pam McCrimmon), Lorrie (Mike Peterson), Tim; and his mother, Sally Sheedy. He is also survived by his nephew, several nieces, and grand-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Barry, and his stepfather, Ronald Sheedy.

Jeff's presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the ASPCA.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 3, at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Drive, Sugar Grove, IL 60554. Visitation will take place from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a service immediately following.
