Jeff Calder, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital in London, KY.
Born on February 23, 1954, in Keavy, KY, Jeff lived a life rich in love, service, and dedication to his fellow man. He dedicated many years of his working life with Whayne Supply in Corbin where he made many friends. He was a master gardener, his watermelons were the talk of the town, and his woodworking creations were a testament to his patience and attention to detail. His love for nature and the fruits it bore mirrored his generous spirit, his willingness to cultivate, nurture, and share with those around him.
Jeff is survived by his beloved wife, Lois Trett Calder; Children, Laurie Snyder (Rick), Jason Calder (Tricia), and James Calder; grandchildren, Hillary Huff and Bennie Smith; great grandchildren, Gavin and Shaylin Huff; siblings, Kenny Calder (Dottie), Faye Godsey (Jack), Mike Calder (Jessie), and Lynn Roy (Martin), brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rocky and Eva Diane Egner; and by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Carrie Fields Calder, and by his siblings, Jean Campbell and David Calder.
Jeff was a proud member of the Pine Hill United Baptist Church, where his faith was as steadfast as his commitment to his community. His kind and loving heart touched many, always ready to lend a hand, a smile, or a comforting word.
Visitation for Jeff will be held from 6-9 pm on Sunday May 4, 2025, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday May 5, 2025, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, with Pastor Dewayne Arthur officiating.
Burial will follow in the Chappell Cemetery. Serving as pall bearers will be Mike Calder, Rocky Egner, James Calder, Jason Calder, Gavin Huff, and Rick Snyder.
