Debora Lee Walker Aker North, age 68, of Middlesboro, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2026, at Middlesboro Nursing and Rehab.
Born on March 16, 1957, in Pineville, Kentucky, Debora was a woman who made caring for her family her life's work. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and cooking, but her favorite hobby was spending time with her many family members and friends. She was a devoted mother and she adored her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Debora was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Viola Saylor; her father, Leroy Walker; an uncle, Don Saylor; and her aunts, Grace Saylor, Lorene Elliot, Mary Hensley, Alice Gillentine and Serida Saylor.
She is survived by her children, Michael Aker, Joseph Aker, Elisha Raven, Scotty Aker, Jeremiah North, Jennifer North, Bobby North, Rebecca North and Heather North; 20 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and her mother, Kathleen Payne. Debora is also survived by a brother, Ronnie Dickson and wife Ellen of Manchester, Kentucky; sisters, Susan Dietrich of Normal, Illinois and Terrie Morgan of Williamsburg, Kentucky; an aunt, Marsha Rose and a host of nieces and nephews. Additionally, she is survived by special friends, Geraldine Gambrel, Susan Brooks and Cherae Widner.
Visitation for Debora will be Saturday, February 7 from 6-9pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master Street in Corbin. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, February 8 at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Dickson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky.
