Jeff Travis Fields

Jeff Fields, age 87, passed away on January 23, 2026, in Springfield, Missouri, where he resided.

He was born on March 29, 1938, to Rufus and Pauline Fields in Dexter, Missouri. Jeff married Brenda Crump, and they shared 61 years together until her passing in January 2022.

Jeff is survived by his children, Jerry (Terri) Fields of Leawood, Kansas, and Chantel Gebhard of Springfield, Missouri; five grandchildren, Christopher (Michelle) Fields, Ellen (Carter) Stallings, Emma (Ryan) Panyard, Madison Gebhard, and Zach Gebhard; and three great grandchildren, Harper Fields, Kai Stallings, and Parker Panyard. He is also survived by his sisters, Gladys Chase of Dexter, Missouri, Margaret Adams of Bernie, Missouri, and his brother, Kenneth Fields of Republic, Missouri.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Brenda Fields, his brother, Gene Fields, and his parents, Rufus and Pauline Fields.

Jeff served in the National Guard and spent his working life as a mechanic, a profession that reflected his strong work ethic and willingness to help others. One of the kindest and most loyal men around, Jeff won the hears of all the healthcare workers who cared for him. He face Parkinson's disease, cancer, and cardiovascular disease with quiet strength and dignity. Jeff will be remembered for his generosity, loyalty, and gentle spirit and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
