Jeffery David Greenwood was born on December 7, 1955, in Denison, Iowa to Richard “Dick” & Geneviene “Gen” (Shields) Greenwood. Jeff grew up in Dunlap and graduated from Dunlap High School in 1974. Jeff joined the US Navy in December of 1974 and was a cook in the Navy. After his honorable discharge, he held various jobs including owning the Greenie’s Golden Autumn Bar in Hartley, Iowa. While in Hartley he married Pam and they moved to Arizona. Jeff managed a Carl Jr’s restaurant in Arizona. He returned to the Midwest and sold cars for several years. In his later years, Jeff cooked for his brother, Bill, at Billy G’s bar in Dunlap and then at the 4th Avenue Grill in Logan.
Jeff was a Philadelphia Eagles fan. He loved to golf, sell cars and have a good time.
Jeff died on Monday, October 9, 2023, at the Dunlap Specialty Care Center at the age of 67 years, 10 months and two days.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Dick Greenwood; mother, Geneviene Moore; step- father, Robert Moore; brother, Rick Greenwood and sister, Mary Ann Melby. He is survived by his four siblings, Mike Greenwood of Omaha, Nebraska, Bill Greenwood and his wife Becky of Dunlap, Tina and her husband Gilbert Banuelos of Kansas City, Missouri and Wyatt Greenwood and his wife Mary of Council Bluffs, Iowa; stepmother, Micki Greenwood of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
