Jeff OBST Obituary

Age 77 of Bayfield, WI Died February 2, 2023 in Minneapolis of complications from Covid, pneumonia and Parkinson's disease. Whenever Jeff set out to do something, he mastered it — whether at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, as an Air Force flight instructor, working for Hennepin County or as a PGA teaching pro — his final role at the Madeline Island Golf Club and the Apostle Highlands Golf Course in Bayfield, WI. Jeff held a forestry degree and a master's in environmental planning from the U of M, and a divinity degree from Harvard. He and his wife Cari made a glorious life together in Minneapolis and later in Bayfield, WI, where he helped lead a Parkinson's support group and co-founded the ParkinSong Singers. Predeceased by his mother, Janis Obst, father, Harold Obst and brother, Nick Obst. Survived by his wife, Cari DeWall Obst and her daughters Alison Hankins, Amber Hickory and Lindsay Hogan; daughters Jonell (Obst) Tempero and Jacqueline Obst; 15 grandchildren; sisters Caroline (Obst) Rawlins and Deborah (Obst) Malmo; and brothers Leonard and Tom Obst. Celebration of life to be held this summer in Bayfield, WI. Memorials suggested to CORE Community Resources, Attn: Mary Dougherty, P.O. Box 1530, Bayfield, WI 54814.
