Jefferey Dale Pendergrass, age 51, formerly of Bertrand, died Sunday, July 21, 2024, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR.
Jeff was born August 27, 1972, at Sikeston, MO, to Brenda Kay Terrell Pendergrass who survives, and the late Roger Dale Pendergrass. He had lived in Bertrand most of his life and was active in school sports serving as captain of the Jr. High and High School Football Teams at Charleston R-I School from where he graduated in 1991.
Jeff could do just about anything he set his mind to. He could draw, do woodwork, plumbing and carpenter work. He was always drawing something for someone or making something out of wood.
To know Jeff was to love Jeff. To be loved by Jeff was a feeling you could never explain. He was the greatest dad and he would always do whatever it took to make sure his kids were happy, and to know they were loved beyond measure by him.
In addition to his mother, Brenda Pendergrass (Bobby); Jeff is survived by his sister, Jennifer (Robert) Liepe; his children, Blake Mackenzie Pendergrass, Alexis Rae Pendergrass and Emyleigh Lynn Pendergrass; his niece, Sara; and a number of cousins.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Liam Dale Patrick; his grandparents, Jesse R. Pendergrass and Myrtle G. Hambrick Pendergrass and Harlen Bruce Terrell and Pansy Eliane Jones Terrell.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. His brother-in-law, Robert Liepe, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Kevin, Bobby, Austin, Tommy, Maxwell and John.
Online condolences may be shared at www.mcmiklefuneralhome.com.
God saw he was getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around him and whispered come home with me.
With tearful eyes we watched him be free and saw him fade away- although we loved him dearly, we couldn't make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating and his hardworking hands were laid to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best.
You will always be in our hearts because in there you are still alive. Rest now for one day we will meet again.
