We celebrate a life that meant so much to so many of us. A great father, husband, uncle, brother, cousin and friend, Mr. Jeffery Chandler.
Jeffery Chandler, born September 2, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, was the third child of five children born to the late Marie Josephine Travis Chandler and Elmer Lee Chandler.
Jeff received his education in the Chicago Public School System. In 1971, Jeff moved to Covert, Michigan.
In 2012, Jeff married the love of his life, Darece Shelton, at Resurrection Life Ministries in South Haven, Michigan.
Jeff had a vision and a desire to make a difference. He was very passionate about owning and operating his very own Lawn Care Service. Jeff saw a need in the industry for quality Lawn Care and Janitorial Services.
Jeff worked at Swing-Lo Suspended Scaffold Company in Covert, Michigan for over 20 years. He joined Covert Public Schools staff in August 2022.
Jeff leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Darece Shelton; one sister, Ollitha Mosley; three daughters, Dannella Midge Watkins, Latrina Brown, and Felicia Ford; one stepson, Lamont Shelton, Jr.; eight grandchildren, Bryshere Ford, Sameiya Mahone, Trenise Taggart, Anthony Brown, Terrance Brown, Jordan Vaughn, Jamar Langston, Felicity Langston; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at Second Baptist Church, 1113 Indiana Ave., South Haven, MI 49090 on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Pastor Dureya Gibson will officiate.
