Jeffery Lee McMackin, age 53, passed away peacefully on August 6th 2024 in West Valley City, Utah.
Jeff was born October 30th 1970 to Jerry Dean McMackin and Billie Ann Rush in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Jeff was born prematurely at a whopping 3 lbs 10 oz. Despite his small start, he would prove to have the biggest personality. Constantly saying, "can't beat me".
Jeff would go on into his young child and teenage years always looking for the next big adventure. He had a thrill for adrenaline and a love for fun. He always had his cousins, who were his best friends, right beside him. Together they caused trouble and chaos, and made memories that are still talked about today. He also enjoyed boxing, cars and motorcycles, and the outdoors.
Jeff had his only daughter Keisha in July of 1990 with Cherrie Wilde. Jeff went on to marry his 1st wife, Kathy Brown on February 27th 1991. On June 19th, 1999 Jeff married the love of his life, Faith Tate, with their family and loved ones by their side.
Jeff and Faith spent 30 Years together making memories that will last a life time. Jeff enjoyed his career in trucking and weekends were often spent having game nights, or in the outdoors four wheeling or camping, often hiking - no trails or daylight needed. Jeff was great at reminding Faith how loved she really was by cleaning snow off the car, writing her letters and poems, supporting her interests, making dinner, or surprising her with meaningful gifts. He was full of curiosity and creativity. Jeff was a protector, always 10 steps ahead. He fought for what he thought was right, often fighting more for others than himself. He was quick to try to prove his point. Even though he was wrong sometimes, he was never wrong in his eyes saying, "I am a McMackin, I am never wrong". As an animal lover, he often spent more time visiting with animals than the people. In his later years, he became a father-in-law and Papa. He had 4 Granddaughters; Brooklynne, Peyton, Jordin, and Raygen; and his son-in-law, Anton. Jeff enjoyed being a papa so much. He created so many lasting memories with them going to the candy store, ghost hunting, antique shopping, scary movie days, and supplying an unlimited amount of snacks and soda. Jeff also loved to talk about Anton's job in the military. Often visiting and talking about the various places Anton worked.
Although Jeff loved adventure, he sure did love his down time and spent it watching crime documentaries, Judge Judy, and any DVD from his huge collection. He enjoyed his Fortnite marathons on the weekends and even the weekdays sometimes. He always had a project he was working on or improving with his creativity or helping a family member. Our master fixer will be truly missed.
The world is not the same without him and neither are we.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Faith; daughter, Keisha (Anton); mother, Ann; sisters, JoAnn (Tate) & Judy; granddaughters, Brooklynne, Peyton, Jordin, & Raygen; cousins; aunts; uncle; nieces; nephews; many loving extended family & friends; and dog, Jasper.
Jeff is preceeded in death by his dad, Jerry; uncles, Bobby, Ross, & Steve; grandparents; and treasured family pets.

As I know Jeff, not as a grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle, husband, father or even a friend. He was my son then a brother for nearly 54 years I was the first to hold him and the last to see him, Jeff's mother.

Reaching out to Ann and the McMackin family. Ran into Jeff at Target in June of this year. He and I enjoyed a couple of small hikes and great talk's. Jeff was excited about the route 66 trip him and his mother was going to take. So sad he is gone seeing we reconnected after many years but am so grateful for him. Sending warm healing prayers.
