Jeffery Alan Mulkey
July 14,1980 – January 30,2025
Jeffery Alan Mulkey, born on July14,1980, to his proud parents, Cathy Garza and Stephen Mulkey. Jeffery passed away on January 30,2025 due to a recent prolonged illness which he was unable to recover from. Jeff is missed by family and friends and all that knew and cared for him.
Jeff was the middle child of a loving and supportive family. Jeff went to grade school in Arvin and West High School in Bakersfield, California. Jeff loved music and taught himself how to play the guitar and write songs; he was very creative. He got his love of music from his grandmother Mary. Some of his favorite things he loved to do was visit Morro Bay, skateboard, snowboard and go camping and off roading in his Jeep.
Jeff had his life all planned out. He worked at Surface Pumps where he learned to machine and weld. Jeff went to night classes to further his knowledge of computerized fabrication and welding. His parents raised him to have a strong work ethic. He was always learning something new. He had just bought his first house, and he was setting up a business for 4X4 parts.
When he was in a car accident 15 years ago, all these plans changed. Now, the focus was on healing and recovery. It was a long road, but Jeff's motto was "Stay Strong" and he fought to get better. Even though Jeff lived in Delano Regional for his care, he was happy and loved by everyone who knew him. His care givers that took care of him love and miss him. Jeffs favorite things was still the same as before. We would listen to music, especially his music from when he was in the band Diary. Plain White T's and Green Day were his favorite bands to listen to. Before his accident he was able to go with the Plain White Ts on the road to set up before a performance from California to Chicago.
Jeff loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved watching skateboarding videos, music videos and Jeeps in the desert rock crawling and races. He loved to watch the movies but Mr. Deeds; it was his favorite. Jeff always had a smile for everyone, and his smile will be missed by all.
Jeff is survived by his parents; Cathy Garza and Stephen Mulkey and his wife Kathy, his sisters Christina M. Tillett (Uriah), Amanda R. Kilpatrick (Bob), his nephew Ezekiel, nieces Jaiden and Kylie as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by, his Grandfather Leon H. Johnson and Grandmother Mary E. Johnson. Grandfather Herbert R. Overall and Grandmother Nellie F. Overall. Uncle Richard W. Overall and Aunt Cathy Holman and Stephanie Mulkey. Also, Stepfather Xavier Garza. (Cathy).
.
Jeff looked forward to the fulfillment of Jehovah's promise of a new world free of sickness and pain as shown in the Bible at Revelation 21:3,4. We cannot wait to see him again. We look forward to seeing his smile and hearing his laughter again. Until that time, Jeff will be missed so much by his family and friends.
