It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeffery Scott Ryder, who departed this life at the age of 53. A man of boundless energy, sharp wit, and profound dedication, he lived a life defined by service, adventure, and an unyielding zest for the world around him.
A proud veteran, Scott answered the call to duty, serving with distinction in the United States Navy. His time in uniform was a testament to his character—smart, resilient, and always ready for the next mission. Whether on land or at sea, he carried himself with a sense of purpose that remained a hallmark of his personality throughout his life.
When he wasn’t in service, Scott was often found chasing the horizon. He was a man of the open road, possessing a legendary love for fast bikes and the freedom they provided. An explorer at heart, his passion for travel and adventure took him far and wide, always in search of a new story, a beautiful view, or a world-class meal. His intelligence was matched only by his humor; he had a rare gift for making people laugh and a perspective on life that was as insightful as it was funny.
While his adventures were many, his greatest legacy remains his family. He is survived by his devoted mother, Elizabeth Henry, and his two daughters, Devin McCully-Ryder and Elizabeth Ryder. He was their protector and their inspiration, teaching them by example to live boldly and to never settle for the ordinary.
He leaves behind a void that cannot be filled, but also a reminder to all who knew him: serve with honor, ride with passion, and savor every bite along the way.
