JoAnn Josephine Ryder, 93, of Vincennes, Indiana passed away on March 27, 2026. She was born in Mitchell, Indiana on March 16, 1933, to Luella (Wynn) and Leon Dalton. JoAnn retired from K-Mart as the food service manager in 1996. She was a spouse member of the Harmony Society since the 1970's and became a member in her own name when women were allowed to join. JoAnn could often be seen at the Harmony buying tips. She loved decorating her house during Christmas, dressing up for Halloween, baking cookies, gardening, and was an enthusiastic Bingo player and avid reader. Throughout the years she traveled to Indianapolis; Nashville, TN and New York City to visit her daughters. JoAnn was also a dog and cat lover.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Lee Ryder; her parents; all eight of her siblings (James Robert Dalton,b.1917; John Dennis Dalton,b.1918; Margaret Francis Vitoski,b.1920; William Donald Dalton, b.1922; Betty Evelyn Kindred,b.1924; Leon Charles Dalton, B.1926; Walter Kenneth Dalton, b.1929; Jerry Lee Dalton, b.1936); sons Johnny Bill Barlow and Lonnie Barlow; daughter Cheryl Reeder; and her grandson Mark Reeder.
JoAnn is survived by her daughters Denise (Carl Cohen) Barlow and Michelle (Paul) Ryder-Grebel; her grandsons Richard (Melinda) Reeder and John Barlow; granddaughter Rebecca Barlow; five great-grandchildren; and much-loved nieces and nephews.
Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of JoAnn. Visitation will be held April 4, 2026, from 11 - 1. The Funeral Service will begin promptly at 1 pm with burial following at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made to the Vincennes Animal Shelter (Pet Port) in JoAnn's honor.
