Jeffre "Scott" Hopper, 62, of Amarillo, passed peacefully on August 3, 2024.
Scott's life will be celebrated on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 11 a.m. in the Angel Funeral Home's Chapel of Angels with Reverend Greg Corona of Hillside Christian Church presiding.
Scott was born in Fort Myers, Florida, on August 22, 1961, to his parents Charlie Hopper and Patsy Mosely. He graduated from Lee High Acres High School in Florida and then enlisted in the United States Army. Following the Army, Scott followed his calling and became a Chef. He loved food and found great passion in preparing wonderful meals. Most of he and his family’s conversations took place around the table where he prepared them a meal and then they talked more about food.
When Scott wasn’t cooking, he could usually be found watching his Childhood Hero John Wayne or one of his other favorite western movies or shows. Scott could spend countless amounts of time lost in the world of the cowboys of older times. He also really enjoyed music. He would listen to everything, but tops on his list were Country and Blues.
Scott was a genuinely kind-hearted person who loved to help people. He opened not only his home to those in need, he would also open his wallet if needed, offer food, or quite literally give you the shirt off his back.
Scott is preceded in death by his mother and grandparents. Those left to cherish his memories are his partner in life since 1991, Charmaine Martinez, son, Tyler Hopper and wife Hunter, his father, one brother and one sister; and many extended family and dear friends.
