Jeffrey Neil Albert Dunk, known affectionately as Jeff to his family and friends, passed away in his hometown of
Corpus Christi, Texas, on February 10, 2024, at the age of 56 with family by his side. Born on August 24, 1967, in the same vibrant city, Jeff's life was a testament to the enduring bonds of family and the simple joys that come from a life well-lived.
Jeff was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Albert Richard Wright and Jessie Mae Wright, as well as Leroy Dunk Sr. and Janie Dunk, and his father Leroy Dunk Jr. He was the cherished son of Leroy Dunk Jr. and Barbara Wright Dunk, who instilled in him the values of kindness and dedication that he carried throughout his life.
Jeff's legacy continues through his loving mother Barbara Wright Dunk, devoted son Shaun Dunk and his wife, Shea, who will forever hold dear the lessons and love their father imparted, his sister, Sheri Tyler, and her husband, Mark, along with his brother, Leroy "Lee" Dunk and his wife, Lynn, will remember Jeff as a pillar of strength and laughter within the family, Jeff's three grandchildren, Bexlee, Brylee, and Briar, brought immense joy to his life, and he cherished every moment he spent with them, and his niece, April Gadoci, and her husband, Drew, will also hold onto the fond memories and enduring warmth that Uncle Jeff provided.
For many years, Jeff worked as a skilled roofer, a trade that reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family. His colleagues knew him as a man who could be relied upon, a friendly face on the job site, and a team player in every sense. Jeff's involvement in his trade extended beyond his day-to-day work, where he formed many lasting friendships.
Beyond his professional life, Jeff was an avid outdoorsman who found solace and excitement in the beauty of nature. He loved fishing and hunting, activities that allowed him to appreciate the world's natural wonders and pass on his outdoor skills to his son and grandchildren. The family cabin was a place of gathering, where stories were shared, laughter echoed, and the bonds of family and friendship were strengthened.
Above all, Jeff was a real family guy. His happiest moments were those spent surrounded by his loved ones, whether it was at a backyard fish fry, a family holiday celebration, or simply watching his grandchildren play. His presence was a source of comfort and joy, and his ability to light up a room with his friendly demeanor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jeff's life was characterized by his loving nature. He approached each day with a warm heart and an open mind, making friends wherever he went and leaving a lasting impression on those he encountered. His friendly spirit was contagious, and it is this spirit that his family and friends will carry with them as they navigate the world without him.
As we say goodbye to Jeffrey Neil Albert Dunk, we celebrate the life of a man who was truly loved and who loved deeply in return. Jeff's memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him, and his spirit will continue to inspire us to cherish our own loved ones and the time we have with them.
Jeff's family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the community of Corpus Christi for their support during this time. Jeff was a proud son of this city, and it is here that his story began and came to a peaceful close. Though he has left this earthly realm, the memories he created will forever be a beacon of love and friendship in the lives of those he touched.
