Dr. Jeffrey Bolz, DDS
1955 - 2025
Dr. Jeffrey Bolz, age 70, died at his home in Grand Rapids, Minnesota on Monday, July 14, 2025. He was the youngest of four children of Dr. J. Arnold and Belva Bolz. Jeffrey was born on January 24, 1955, in Colorado Springs, Colorado where Dr. Bolz and family were living during military service at Fort Carson. He was named Jeffrey Nelson Bolz in honor of Belva Nelson Bolz's maiden name. Growing up in Blackberry, Minnesota, Jeffrey shared his childhood with siblings John, Gretchen, and Kristine Bolz. He is survived by John, his children and grandchildren with Laura Bolz of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Kristine Bolz Sisk, her children, and grandchildren of Claremore Oklahoma, and Van Miles, son of sister, Gretchen and his children and grandchildren. The family would like to acknowledge the kindness and loving care Van, and his family extended to Jeffrey in his later years and after he retired.
Jeffrey graduated from Greenway High School in Coleraine, Minnesota. He then pursued higher education at Itasca Junior College followed by the University of Minnesota, Duluth, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. His academic journey continued at the University of Minnesota, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
A dedicated professional, Jeffrey practiced dentistry in Fridley, Minnesota, and later in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Beyond his professional achievements, Jeffrey was musically inclined, playing both acoustic and bass guitars, and even performed in a rock band during high school. The friends in his band became lifelong friends. He was proud of the Black Belt he earned in Tae Kwon Do. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially at Nelson's Resort on Crane Lake, Minnesota and in Voyageur National Park. He was an avid conservationist.
Jeffrey's life was marked by his passion for music, martial arts, and the great outdoors. His legacy will be cherished by family, friends, and all who have had the privilege of knowing him.
