Jeffrey A. "Jeff" Borchert

1958 - 2025

Owatonna - Jeffrey Adolph Borchert was born on March 31, 1958, in Owatonna, MN, to parents, Beverly (Kopischke) Borchert and Adolph "Butch" Borchert. At age 67, he passed away peacefully at home in Owatonna on Saturday, June 14, 2025, after a 7-month courageous battle with cancer.

Jeff graduated from the Owatonna High School in 1977. He had many fond memories of those high school days, including making four touchdowns in one game! After graduation, he went on to attend college in River Falls, WI and Mankato, MN., with a focus in zoology and business.

Jeff met Joni (Harpel) Borchert in 1978. They dated and were later married on August 7, 1982, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna, MN. They went on to have three children, Matthew David (Austin, TX), Kaylee Rae (Deceased), and Erik Jeffrey (St. Paul, MN).

For 25 years, Jeff was owner, broker, and agent at Century 21 in Owatonna, MN. After retiring from real estate, he worked retail jobs as he loved selling and interacting with people. Jeff's interests included gardening, working a booth at the local farmer's market, nature, flowers, trees birds and traveling. And, besides the love for his family, Jeff enjoyed raising cats, dogs, and a variety of other animals.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Joni, of 43 years; sons, Matthew and Erik; brother, Kevin Borchert; sisters, Denise Halverson, Wendy (Ron) Gaveske, Mary (Todd) Block, Jenny (Greg) Vanek; and sister-in-law, Nancy Borchert.

Jeff was preceded in death by his daughter, Kaylee; his parents, Butch and Beverly Borchert; and his brother, Mike Borchert.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michaelson Funeral Home of Owatonna.

Friends may greet family and join in on the celebration of Jeff's life on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 3-6 pm at the Mineral Springs Brewery, 210 N. Oak Ave, Owatonna, MN.
