Jeffrey Gavin Bradley passed from this life on August 20, 2025 in Tulsa, OK. The youngest son of John Thomas Bradley III and Marilyn Metzer Bradley, Jeff was born April 4, 1952 in his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Graduating from Edison High School in 1970, Jeff started his career in the music industry as a roadie/drum tech, traveling around the world with his best friend, drummer Jamie Oldaker. Their adventures included touring with Phil Driscoll, Bob Seger and Eric Clapton. Soon after leaving the music industry, Jeff began working in the press room at PennWell Printing Company in 1980. He continued to work in the printing industry until his retirement in 2014.
His various hobbies and interests kept him busy through the years, including his love of motorcycles, gunsmithing and hunting. It wasn't unusual to find him watching golf or OU football with multiple cats or Caesar the Boxerdog in his lap, at least until his exuberant cheering or yelling caused his beloved pets to scatter like the wind. He was always willing to share his stories of the Church Studio and roadie shenanigans when asked by his family and friends. Given the opportunity, he would share his love of the legendary Tulsa Sound that grew out of the 60's and 70's, and he encouraged others to listen to genres like the blues and gospel that influenced the iconic Tulsa shuffle. He spoke of how that shuffle beat had influenced artists around the world. He was proud to have had a small part in that time in Tulsa's history and thankful to call those musicians his friends. He cherished his family and friends. He was thankful for the last 20 years of his life spent in Collinsville OK, and the wonderful relationships he developed with his neighbors and old friends of his wife, Karla. He was loved by all and will be missed by many.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marilyn, his son, Jason Bradley, sister-in-laws Shelley Bradley and Kendra Burch, father and mother-in-law Charles and Relda Miller.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Karla Bradley of Collinsville, OK, daughter Shannon (JD) Ruth of Sapulpa, grandchildren Taylor Sammons and Jensen Ruth of Sapulpa, OK, brothers Mark (Chris) Bradley of Georgetown, Tx and Steve Bradley of Tulsa, OK, brother-in-law Gary (Denise) Burch of Broken Arrow, OK, nephews Kyle (Jamie) Bradley of Tulsa, OK and Cody(Sarah) Burch of Oologah, OK and niece Mandy Burch of Eugene, OR as well as a host of cousins and extended family.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 1pm at First Baptist Church Collinsville OK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to First Baptist Church, Collinsville, OK or The Church Studio Music Foundation, Tulsa OK To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of JEFFREY, please visit our Tree Store.
