Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thayer-Rock Funeral Home - Farmington on Nov. 1, 2024.
Jeffrey Alan Davis, 51, passed away on October 15, 2024 at Trinity Health Livonia St Mary's hospital after battling the effects of COVID-19 pneumonia for almost three months. He was born with Down Syndrome on December 15, 1972 at St Mary's. Despite his disability, Jeff had an easy-going personality and was loved by all who knew him during his life. He was enrolled in the Farmington Public Schools trainable program for mentally and physically handicapped students from age 3 to age 26. For the past 20 years, he was a resident at the Angels' Place Joliat home where he enjoyed the company of his friends Joey, Mike, John K., John B., Robert, and Kelly. At the same time, he loved his jobs at New Horizons sheltered workshop. Jeff's favorite activity was swimming where he competed in many Special Olympics competitions. Other activities included attending church, taking walks, listening to music, and dancing. He also enjoyed traveling with his family especially trips to Scandinavia and Alaska. Jeff is survived by his parents Tom and Sandy Davis, sister Melissa Olszewski (Chris), and nephews Peter and Cameron Olszewski.
A Memorial Service for Jeff will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday November 23, 2024 at Nardin Park United Methodist Church, 29887 West 11 Mile Road in Farmington Hills with a luncheon to follow in Mercer Hall. The sanctuary will be open at 10:30 A.M. for a meet and greet time before the start of the service.

My favorite memories with Jeff involve dancing to the tunes of Grease, the Crew Cuts, Sean Cassidy & Eddie & the Cruisers. We danced at Missy's wedding. We danced at my wedding. I loved watching his dedication to swimming his laps at the Farmington Glen during adult swim. He loved his "kids", flipping through magazines in their living room, and his tape cassettes. He was always fun to be around and so happy. I will miss you Jeff! Til we dance again! Love, Heather
