Jeffrey Len Gaumer

Funeral services celebrating the life of Jeffrey Len Gaumer, 71, of Newark, will be held at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 11:30 A.M., Friday, August 1, 2025, with Fr. Anthony Dinovo as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Newark. Calling will be held at the funeral home, 5-7 P.M., Thursday, July 31, 2025. Jeff, a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church, died at his home on Monday, July 28, 2025. He was born in Mt. Vernon, Ohio on November 29, 1953, to the late Willard Roy and Mildred Jean (Bryan) Gaumer. A 1972 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, Jeff received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Ohio State University in 1976, where he also learned to became an avid fan of the Buckeyes. He worked as a certified public accountant for many years with Compass Act & Tax Service and was currently with Layton Inc. Jeff enjoyed reading, working in his garden and socializing with friends while hosting cookouts. He loved to travel and looked forward to his Hilton Head vacations. He will be greatly missed by his sons, Eric P. Gaumer; siblings, Stephen (Margaret) Gaumer, Kathy Denuit, Mike (Carrie) Gaumer, and Brian Gaumer; sisters-in-law, Connie Gaumer and Jean Mallonee; longtime friends, Dave and Debby Shelly; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his birth parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his wife, Karen (Mallonee) Gaumer, December 2024; brother, Rick Gaumer and brother-in-law Jim Denuit.
