Jay Gaumer Obituary
Jay was born on April 12, 1951 in Steubenville, OH. He was the son of the late Thomas William Gaumer and Mona Lou (Kessler) Gaumer.
Jay served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. He worked at Weirton Steel as a welder and a nondestructive tester and later at Mondi. Jay attended the Wellsburg Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Gaumer Denny.
Jay is survived by his wife, Shelly (Mercer) Gaumer, four children: Megan Soly and her husband, Mike, Adam Gaumer and his wife, Elizabeth, Morgan DeSimone and her husband, Patrick, and Monica Gaumer, grandchildren, Mila, Macklin and Morrison Soly, Judah, Sakora, Alina and Alice Gaumer, Lilah DeSimone, Tyler Denny, Nicole and Nathan Anderson, one great-grandson, Ayden, three sisters, Toni Glanton and her husband, John, Janel Sweeny and her husband, Dan, Trudy DiPalma and her husband, Andy, and several nieces and nephews.
The Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551 is honored and privileged to serve the Gaumer Family with a private Memorial Service held at the Wellsburg Church of the Nazarene at a future date.
As an expression of your love and care toward the Gaumer Family please provide an act of kindness to someone, whether through a donation, volunteering or even helping your neighbors. Jay always helped others and would love that the warmth of his memory will continue.
