Jeffrey L. Hamm, 65, of New Castle passed away Friday, July 9, 2021 at IU Health Ball Hospital. He was born May 15, 1956 in New Castle to the late Bobby J. and Norma L. (Simmons) Hamm.
Jeff grew up in Mooreland and was a 1974 graduate of Blue River Valley High School. He and his late wife, Ellen, operated the Yellow Cab Taxi Company in Muncie for over 20 years then later retired from Keihin in Greenfield. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, enjoyed going on benefit motorcycle rides on his Harley Davidson "Ruby", volunteering with fellow Posse Motorcycle Club members-parking cars at the Mooreland Free Fair for many years, and liked to hunt and fish in his earlier years.
He is survived by his companion of 12 years, Leisa Price; children, Travis (Kilyssa) Hamm and Michelle Hamm; grandchildren, Sydney, Leighton, Dylan, Sophie and Lillie Piper; sister, Dedra Jones; brother, Mac Hamm; step mother, Darla Hamm; special niece and nephew, Kaylee Jones and Michael Hamm; special friends, Johnny (Tricia) Thomas and Lonnie (Marie) Hyatt.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Hamm in 2008.
Memorial services will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Memorial Wesleyan Church with Pastor Joe Harmon officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Mooreland Cemetery at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jeffrey Hamm Memorial Fund c/o Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, 3406 S.
