Jeffrey (Jeff) Hayes 68, of Fargo, ND, passed away from natural causes on December 2, 2025. He died peacefully at home.

Jeff was born July 8, 1957 to Thomas and Lorraine (Lolly) Hayes in Mora, MN. He attended schools in many places, moving often with his family. He graduated from Rapid City Central High School in 1975 and earned a college degree in Denver CO. He moved to Grand Forks, ND to be closer to family in the 80’s, worked in accounting and then began his career in collections. A difficult field but he excelled in it. He settled in Fargo after the death of his mom.

Jeff was a man with many passions. He cherished his cat Molly as part of the family. He loved sports, particularly the MN Vikings, the MN Twins, the Colorado Avalanche and the NDSU Bison. He was an avid bicyclist, bowler, curler and waterfowl hunter. He loved to read and was a music enthusiast from a very young age. He loved the Beatles, the Stones and most anyone rock and roll.

Jeff was a very kind, loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed for his humor and his gregarious attitude.

He is survived by his sister, Dolly (David) Wadholm; brother, James Hayes; nieces and nephews, Jeff (Melanie) Wadholm, Kelly (John) Ingrassia, Todd (Carla) Wadholm, Becky (Tim) Parker, Judd (Crista) Wadholm, and Thomas (Emmie) Hayes; cousins, Mike (Audri) Erickson and Brad (Susan) Erickson; and many good friends. He will be missed forever.

A graveside service will be held in the spring.
